Teeth whitening dentist

The standard recommendation for visiting the dentist is at least two times a year. A biannual dental check-up has two-fold benefits: you get to have a thorough examination of your oral cavity, and you get your teeth cleaned through scaling.

Our dentists do exactly just that on routine dental appointments. Your oral health is critically assessed, and any evidence of plaque or tartar is effectively removed. Plus, each patient will be advised on how to look after their oral health at the end of the session.

Here are some additional aspects that are looked into during a routine dental check-up:

Scaling and Polishing

Scaling is the process that removes plaque and tartar from your teeth and gums. This is the yellowish material that forms at the area where your teeth abut the gum line.

Overtimes, tartar can harden into something called calculus. Calculus can then break off during brushing or after a meal which can make your gums bleed or cause you to aspirate the broken pieces.
Scaling and polishing make an integral part of a routine dental check-up at Wellness Dental Studio so that you can leave with plaque-free teeth.

This process takes only a few minutes and is overall comfortable.

Bad Breath

Halitosis or bad breath is a common problem that patients present with. Often the cause of bad breath is poorly understood by most. Our dentists, after a thorough examination, investigate the reason and present the solution to this problem.

In most cases, bad breath is a cumulative result of poor oral hygiene and a build-up of bacteria in the oral cavity. Other times, the reason for bad breath might not have an oral source at all.

A routine general dental check-up at our clinic includes looking for the cause of bad breath and delivering the right treatment.

Oral Cancer Screening

Oral cancer is associated with multiple risk factors such as smoking, alcohol, poor diet, etc.

Most oral cancers, even at their early stages, can be detected at a routine dental check-up. During a general examination of the oral cavity, our dentists pay close attention to any abnormal growths in the mouth that could point to malignancy, as a part of an oral cancer screen.
